MANI MONDAY!

MANI MONDAY/NOTD

Hello Ladies!! I wanted to show you my nail strips that I have been wearing. I have actually had these on for three days so they are a little worn on the tips of my nails but besides that they have been holding up like champs! I am wearing the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in 'Animal Instinct'. I actually got these in my Insiders' Choice Box, can be seen here, and it came with two sets of these babies! These ones are really cute!! I love zebra print so I was excited when I got them and I like that they have sparkles in them! I like the pink although I would not have picked pink if I were out buying these because I do have bright red hair and my hair color tends to clash with anything pink. I have used Sally Hansen's nail polish strips a few times and I absolutely love them. I am artistically challenged so these are perfect for me! What kind of nails are you sporting today?

NOTD

Hello ladies!!!
The nail polish I used for today's nails is O.P.I's 'AN AFFAIR IN RED SQUARE'
I love finding red nail polish colors; there are so many but it is honestly very hard to find the perfect red, but with this is one of the BEST red nail colors I have found to this day! I do not even know where I got this one at, it just kind of appeared in my house lol I'm sure I bought it awhile ago and just can't remember exactly when or where. I will be on the look out for another one though so that I can have a back-up! Have you seen one of these in a store, if so let me know which one!

NOTD

Hello Ladies!! In this month's July The Look Bag we received two Bon-Bons nail polishes, I was not over-the-hill about getting them because well they are only $0.88 at Walmart. I decided that I might as well try them out since I have them and I was actually surprised that they are not too bad! I loved the way the green color turned out and the orange is actually not to bad either! I was happy with the way the colors looked after only two coats. This picture was taken almost 24 hours after I painted my nails and just to let you know I did not even put a top coat on and they still have yet to chip.

It still obviously is not my favorite brand of nail polish but for $0.88 it is not too bad.

JULY BEAUTY ARMY BOX!

Hello ladies! Not only did I get my The Look Bag in the mail today but I also got my July Beauty Army box!!! This is my first month with Beauty Army and if you don't know what Beauty Army is, it is a monthly beauty subscription that sends out samples every month. It is only $12 per month and you get a guaranteed 6 samples! The thing that sets Beauty Army apart from other monthly beauty subscriptions is that you get to pick which samples that you want!! If you would like to subscribe to this beauty subscription you can use my referral link to sign up if you would like to, Click Here.

Here is what my box looks like and what I got in it!
The outside of the box is really cute! It is sleek and definitely reusable!

I love the pink camo on the inside of the box!

The first product I got is the PSSSSST! Instant Dry Shampoo 1.76 OZ
This is a great size for a sample product! I am always trying out new dry shampoo's because they do come in handy!

Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream 0.7 OZ
Pregnancy was horrible on my body so I am always looking for a new stretch mark cream that might be able to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. I am excited to try this cream but the downfall of it was that it was barely even half way full.

Kellett Moisturizing Gel 0.1 FL OZ

YOUNGBLOOD Mineral Primer .17 FL OZ
This is a good size sample because you do not need to use very much of this product per use. I also like that this sample was full to the brim. It is very silky smooth and spreads easily. I have heard many people say that there pump on this doesn't work so I was like, oh crap mine isn't going to work either! But surprisingly it did!! Although, even if it didn't work I would just use a lip brush to get the product out like I usually do with my elf cosmetics mineral primer.

Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment 1 FL OZ
Another sample filled to the brim! This makes me a happy girl! I have heard such great reviews on this product that I am so excited to try it! I have been coloring my hair for a long time and it is some what damaged so I was very happy when this was one of the samples I got to pick from!

Last but not least the Aquolina Pink Sugar Eau De Toilette .06 FL oz
OMG I am so in love with this perfume! It smells like sugary vanilla, and I love sweet perfumes so this is perfect for me! It reminds me of walking into a candy shop that sells ice cream, one of the ones that make their one waffle cones. This scent smells like fresh waffle cones, I absolutely love it!

Overall I am loving my first month of Beauty Army! There was only two things that were a minus this month; The stretch mark cream wasn't even half full and that they mailed my box out super late but all of the good things about this box over rule the bad and I am still very pleased with this sub!

JULY'S THE LOOK BAG

YAY my The Look Bag came in the mail! This is my first and last bag through this subscription because they are cancelling their subscription services for awhile. If you do not know what The Look Bag is, it is a monthly beauty subscription that costs $10 per month and it comes with various beauty products ranging from sample size, travel size, deluxe sample size, and full size beauty products.

This is what the bag looks like; it is a blue mesh pull-string bag.

Here is what came inside!!!
Inside it comes with a greeting post card..

To the good stuff ;)

This month's bag was pretty good, it had some not so high end products but I am still happy with the overall bag.

BREMENN Miracle Cream .24 FL OZ This is a multi-purpose face cream it works for wrinkles, as an eye cream, etc.

2 Bon-Bons nail polishes in green and orange. They are supposed to be scented apple and orange but I only smell the usual nail polish scent.. These aren't something that I want to see in a beauty subscription bag because I can go to Walmart and pick them up for I think $0.88 each.

ULTRAFLESH the gold standard Mascara in Blackout 3M. I love this mascara! I already tried it out and it works really well and I love how small it is because it is a perfect sized mascara to keep in your purse for when you're on the go.

Full-sized KORRES MANGO BUTTER LIPSTICK SPF 10 in 24 PURPLE. I have not tried this out but it is a really pretty color and this by itself almost pays for 2 bags at a retail prices of $18

Last but not least a sample of Betsey Johnson's Eau De Parfum it is 1 ML. I am not a fan of the packaging that the sample came in because if you open the sample you cannot re-close it so it will most likely evaporate. I would have rather the perfume came in a little vial. I will let you know how it smells once I sample it!

Thank you for checking out my blog! Follow me on twitter @marinewife22bb
I am off to find a new beauty sub to replace this one! Know of any good ones? Comment below if you do!

Insiders' Choice Box

Yay good news, my Insiders' Choice Box from Beauty Bar came in the mail today!
These are limited so I would get on it while you can! This box was only $15 and came with so much product, it was one of the best boxes I have received this month. It is not a monthly subscription, it is just something that Beauty Bar is hosting. So lets get to it, here is what the box looked like!

This box was FULL of product that I am so excited to try including:
Heidi Klum Shine Eau De Toilette .5 FL Retail $17
This does have a strong scent but goes down after a couple of minutes.
It is nice because the scent changes from a nice floral smell to a vanilla smell. It would be perfect for a night out. I love the bottle design, it is very cute and will go well in my perfume collection.

Sally Hansen Nail Effects Strips in Animal Instinct. These retail around $8.50 each. I was so surprised when I opened the box and there was not one but two sets in there! I love using these so it felt like an extra treat. I am addicted to zebra print and the pink adds an extra pop on the nails especially with the glitter added in. Although, I do not think that these last more than a couple of days; at least not on my fingernails.

Strivectin-TL Tightening Neck Cream .25 FL OZ Retails for about $12 in this size.
I have not tried this before or really need it at this point in my life but I will be giving it to a family member so I will let you know what she thinks of it =]

L'occitane Lavender Hand Cream 1 OZ Retail $10
This does have a strong lavender scent but not so much that it is too over powering. It has a nice silky smooth consistency and is not greasy.

L'OREAL Youth Code Serum retail $24.99 1 FL OZ
I probably will as well give this to a family member so I will let you know their review on this.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer in Neautralizer Retail $8.99
I am excited to try this; as a mom of a young child and a college student I do not always get the sleep I need so this will come in handy when I go out and have those dark under eye circles.
Supergoop SPF 30 Face and Body moisturizer 1.6 FL OZ Retail $14 on birchbox.com
I LOVE moisturizers! I have dry skin especially on my face so I love getting new moisturizers to try out. SCORE!

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia Retail $7
I tried this out today and it is so nice! It is really buttery smooth and is very sheer. It has a bit of sparkle in it but not very much.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer in Neutral medium .11 FL OZ Retails around $10
I love this bottle it is so tiny and cute! It will be perfect for carrying around in my purse. I have seen many great reviews on this so I can't wait to try this out!

Burt's Bees Body Lotion 6 FL OZ Retail $7.99
This has a nice cocoa butter scent I like that it is not overpowering at all. It is really smooth and a great size!

L'OREAL Voluminous False Fiber Lashes in Black Noir Retail $8.95
I have already have one of these and I absolutely love it! It makes my eyelashes look thick and full. I'm happy it came in the box because I was planning on buying another one anyways!

This actually came as an extra for ordering from Beauty Bar, I guess they send out samples with every purchase so that is awesome! It is a Malin + Goetz Vitamin E Face Moisturizer. As I have said before I love getting moisturizers because I have dry skin so I will definitely be using this!!

All in all I am very happy I ordered this box! $25 for over $100 in product is a great deal and I know that I will get use out of almost everything in it! I definitely recommend that you get in on this deal while it is still available at beautybar.com! Oh and another plus is that they are doing free 2 day shipping!!! I ordered this on Thursday the 19th and got it today, Saturday the 21st!

Have you tried any of these products? If you have what do you think of them?

*NOTD*

It took me only about 5 minutes to decide to try out my new nail decals that I showed you in my previous post lol I ended up having to use the old 'any mini miny moe' technique in order to decide which ones to try out. The winner was the purple tuxedo nail decals. I was kind of sad because they were pretty big so I had to cut them down a lot but they still turned out really cute! My base polish that I used is the Sally Hansen polish in 'Mint Sorbet' if you have not noticed I have been completely obsessed with this nail polish and I have 2 back ups of it for when I run out lol
Here are my nails, I think that they turned out cute; what do you think?.... Besides the fact that I am very messy when painting my nails lol

Next time I will use the pink tuxedo decals, what color should I use to go with them?

You can also tweet me at @MARINEWIFE22BB

*NAIL DECALS MINI HAUL*

So excited I got my nail decals in the mail today!!
I absolutely love wearing nail decals, they make having cute nail designs so much easier if you are like me and not an artist lol.
I like to buy my nail decals off of ebay because they are very cheap and they do ship rather fast, I received mine within about 3-4 days. I will include links to the sites that I ordered these ones from.

So these are the nail decals that I picked this time.

The first ones are the Tuxedo decals in Pink and Purple; there are many other colors that you can chose from. The both came in a set of 11, they give you an extra one in case you accidentally mess one up. Each of these sets cost $1.86
Purple Set
Pink Set

The next set I got are the Leopard print french tip manicure nails. There are many different choices that you can pick from including leopard print, zebra print, snake print, tiger print, etc. There are also many different colors that you can chose from! These came in a set of 20 for $1.90

The next set is a pink heart set in plaid, I actually meant to get a multicolored zebra print set but I accidentally put in the wrong number =/ I will order them still though! With these ones you can as well pick from a wide variety of colors and prints. These come in a set of 20 for $1.90

Last but not least is a set of shoelace decals. These are cute for making shoe nail designs like the ever so popular converse design! I'm super excited to try these ones out =] These come in a set of 20 for $1.49

Nail decals are very easy to apply all you have to do is cut them to your desired size, run them under water, slide of the paper backing and press gently on the nail then add a coat of clear top coat polish =]

*New Big Buddha Handbag!*

Today was a great day! That lovely FedEx man knocked on my door to deliver my new purse that I ordered! My new beautiful baby is a Big Buddha Beverly Satchel in Black! When I was in the process of ordering it I did not realize just how big she was going to be. I can almost fit my laptop in it! She is very spacious and of course the outside detail is gorgeous! I absolutely love the chain shoulder straps and the studded body, it is my style! I was not as excited when I saw her on the site as I am now. On the site I bought the purse from it showed that it was only available with silver chains and studs but when I got it in the mail it was indeed gold! SCORE! Today is a lovely day =]
I want to add that I did not take this picture, I'm in the process of getting a camera and my phone was dead so I found this one because I was too excited to wait and show you all!

Add me on twitter https://twitter.com/MARINEWIFE22BB I will be having a give away coming up =] I will announce it on my twitter! But will give some details soon, hopefully on my next post so stay tuned and add me =]

Anyone else get a new purse lately??

MYGLAM BAG JULY

YAY good news I got my July Myglam Bag!!! This is only my second bag but I think I signed up at the perfect timing because both the June and July bags have been amazing!! Lets get started with what was all in the bag!

As usual the bag came in the metallic pink packaging (not pictured) and inside was the post cards with all the information on the products that you received. There is a note card introducing the Andrea's Choice nail polish that actually has a sticker on it, cute if you have kids they love stickers! The last note card is a Nume note card that has coupon codes. I will not be using them so if you would like to use them here are the deals. $49 for a set of Hydro Punch or Pure Remedy Products MGLAM405387547 and a 50% off any products on http://www.numestyle.com/ MG194243561

Now to the good part!! The theme of the July bag is 'Beach Beauty' and was nothing less than amazing, I got exactly what I was wanting so I am a very happy camper. I also loved that I have not tried any of the products in the bag previously so I am excited to try out new items. The bag itself was cute and perfect for the summer; it is a mesh bag so you can take it to the beach or even in the shower. Also the bag did not stink at all like last months bag did!

The first item I pulled out of the bag were the Yes To Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes.
I wasn't sure if I was going to try these right away because I got my hair colored a few days ago and I ended up being allergic to the hair dye so my face and neck are both covered in a rash, just my luck! I decided to try them out anyways and like it says on the package they are very soothing! They did not irritate my skin where I was rashed out, they actually comforted it, so I will be buying these in a full size!

The second item I pulled out of the bag was the Circus by Andrea's Choice Nail Color.
Omg the packaging of this is so adorable!! The nail polish comes in a plastic tube case which is something that I have never seen before so that was really new and cute to see. I am not sure if Andrea herself designed the packaging but whoever did design it did an amazing job! I got the yellow nail polish in Somersault. Thank you Myglam Gods, it was like they knew I wanted the yellow!! I have a few white polishes already and only had one yellow polishes but it is old and needs to go into that garbage, so thank you Myglam for sending the yellow one to me! I tried this product out as well; I had to use 3 coats for the color to be solid. It is a little bit streaky but since it is new they might still be changing the formula. Overall I do like this product, the packaging has won me over it is to die for.

The third product I got was the Juice Beauty Green Apple SPF 15 Moisturizer.
I honestly would have been happy by getting either of the "OR" products in this selection. The other product was a Kiehl's facial lotion. I have not tried this product yet, I am waiting for my face to become rash free first and then I will try it out on the beach!

The fourth item I got was the Nume Hydro Punch Hydrating Conditioner.
I love conditioner, especially new conditioners because my hair is thick and a bit damaged from dying my hair for over the past 10 or so years. I am planning on trying this out tonight so hopefully it goes well and I like it!

The last product I got, *drum roll please*, was the Bare Escentuals Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Leslie. I was over the moon when I saw that this was in my bag, mostly everyone wanted the stain but I was set on wanting this lipgloss. Even if I would have got the stain I knew a few people that would have switched with me, so that was nice to know. I have already fallen in love with this gloss, it is a lip plumping gloss so your lips will get that numbing feeling. The color is a sheer sparkly pink, I love pink glosses so this color was perfect for me! The gloss is not super sticky so that is a positive in my book. Overall I would buy this product again.
Here is a swatch of the Buxom Lip Polish

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this months bag I give it an A+++! Everything was sealed, minus the lipgloss, and I really appreciate when items are sealed! I love getting deluxe travel sized items because I fly a lot from one end of the country to the next every couple months or so.
Myglam bag is only $10 a month for at least 4 items, I would definitely recommend this subscription to anyone. They have been doing so great the past two months, I cannot wait to get some sneak peaks of next months bag! If you would like to join the Myglam Bag Subscription you can sign up at http://www.myglam.com/ I think there currently is a wait list but I think getting into this subscription is worth the wait!

Also subscribe to my twitter

*MANI MONDAY* Plus a review on my Julep Maven Intro Box!

Before doing a review on my first Julep Maven box which was the Julep Maven Bombshell intro box, let's take a look at my nails shall we?

The colors I used for today's look where Natasha (Orange) and Oscar (Gold Glitter) from my Julep Maven intro box.
I am not completely 100% over the moon with Julep Maven, don't get me wrong they are great but I need a them to 'wow' me a little bit more.

Things that I like about the Julep subscription are:
The overall packaging for the box is cute and put together well.
I love the bottles that the nail polish are in, they are sleek and very cute.
I like that the cap to the fingernail polish is square, it provides a better grip when painting your nails.
I absolutely love the, 'The Best Pedi Creme Ever' that came in my intro box. It helped smooth out my dry summer feet fast.
The intro box was only a penny so how can anyone pass up that deal?
(If you would like to sign up for an intro box here is my referral link http://julep.com/?r=22275415, make sure you use the code PENNY at checkout)
They ship incredibly fast! I live all the way across the country and I received my bag after only 3 days!

I can only think of three con's for this subscription which are the polishes are rather small and the price for the subscription is $19.99 after your intro box.
The third con is that I did not particularly like the Natasha (orange) polish but for only a penny I can definitely deal with that lol!

*NOTD*

Well it is more like nails of the night. I have a bit of a sleeping problem so I am always usually awake at night time. I got bored and decided to paint my nails; I used a lot of fingernail polish remover taking off colors and putting new colors on. So here are two of the nail designs that I did. (Sorry about the pictures, I am in the process of getting a new camera and right now I only have the camera on my phone)

I know, I know, the colors don't match but I was bored having fun, and having fun is what it is all about!
These turned out so cute and it was definitely fun to do! Here is how I made this look...

So here is the step by step process:
You can use more than two colors, I just went with two colors for my first try.
The first step is to get a piece of cardboard or some kind of surface you don't mind having fingernail polish on such as a plate.
Poor a little puddle of your first fingernail polish out.
Take your second color and add a dot of it into the middle.
Take a Q-tip or tooth pick and spread the second color around to make the colors mix.
Put your nail in the fingernail polish and rub it in to get the color onto your nail.

I did not need a base coat, but once your nails dry you will still need a top coat so that your polish does not chip as easily.
This is messy so if you want you can put tape around your nails so that you don't get polish all over your fingers; I should have done that but of course I didn't so I made a huge mess lol.

July Julep Maven Intro Box - Bombshell

I am so excited for my first box to come in! I was even more excited because my first box only cost me $0.01!! You can get it for $0.01 too, here is my referral link if you would like to try Julep out =] http://julep.com/?r=22275415
Also when checking out use the code PENNY to get your intro box for only 1 cent!!

Julep is a monthly subscription that costs $19.99 per month and you get fingernail polish, pedicure products, lip gloss, etc. As a Julep Maven you also get 20% off of all orders placed on their website!

My first impression of this box was that it was good packaging; I like that they do not make it overly difficult to open. They take the time to make the inside cute with wrapping up their products  as well as adding a ribbon to it, and putting the little crinkled decorative paper on the inside.

In my intro box I received
The Best Pedi Creme Ever! (2 FL, Retail $22)
It smells like cucumber and mints, which I love! It isn't strong so I do like that.
Two fingernail polishes
Natasha- A nice orange-reddish color (.27 FL, Retail $14)
Oscar- Glitter Gold (.27 FL, Retail $14)
The last thing that I received, that I also did not know that I was getting is a set of the toe separators for when you paint your toe nails! I am excited about these because I needed to get some but never remembered when I was at the store. So far I give my Julep subscription an A+; awesome products and only 1cent this month.
I am not sure how much the toe separators cost but without those the total retail cost of this bag was $50!! Such an amazing deal =]

*NOTD* PACMAN STYLE!

Today I decided to that I wanted to try a new nail design; while I was thinking what I should do, I was playing my Pacman app on my Nook. That is when the thought hit me to do Pacman nails! Sorry they do not look that great it was my first time doing them.

Of course when doing this design I had to use a few different colors of nail polish so the ones I used were the L.A. Colors Art Deco polishes (Around $1.99 each). The blue nail polish is by Cosmetic R and as you probably noticed I switched the tops from the black fingernail polish to the blue nail polish. I did this because I needed the fine tip on the black nail polish want in order to make the blue ghost and the bigger nail polish tip from the blue polish in order to do the black base coat. I am pretty impressed with how my nails turned out and I am hoping that next time they will look even better!
