Beauty Empties + Review!

Hello Lovelies!

I have some empties that I have been needing to post for you! I was reminded about them today after my husband found them and was wondering why I was keeping a box of trash under the sink. He still doesn't get the whole concept of women sharing their product reviews, but that is okay, I still love him ;)

From Left to Right:

  • Omni Potent Duosity Double Whipped Repairing Treatment - I wouldn't normally post a foil in an empty review but I thought this one deserved some recognition. I am OBSESSED with conditioners an hair treatments because I have long and damaged hair, this duo made my hair so soft and smooth. I definitely want to buy this product after trying it!
  • Dove Daily Moisture Conditioner - My hair is really long so it can tangle easily and this is one of the better drugstore brand conditioners that help smooth it back out.
  • Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle - This product is one of the reasons why I love beauty subscriptions, if I did not subscribe to them, I would have never found out about this brand. This detangler is other worldly! As I have said, my hair is a brat and tangles easily and a lot, this amazing product not only helps me detangle it, but it also smells so good and fruity! It is like a perfume for my hair!
  • Macadamia Flawless Cleansing Conditioner - This is another great conditioner that leaves my hair silky smooth.
  • Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo - Hands down the best dry shampoo that I have ever tried! I have been looking for this in stores but have yet to find it because it is always sold out!
  • Klorane Dry Shampoo - This product is ok, but I would not purchase it.
  • Davines Absolute Beautifying Conditioner - I picked this conditioner as a sample from a Birchbox, and I am SO happy that I did! It is such an amazing conditioner, my hair is incredibly soft after using it.

  •  Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Toner - I was so happy to find this toner, it is so far the only toner I have ever tried that does not dry my skin out and give me a horrible reaction.
  • Olay Fresh Effects Everything Off Make-Up Removal Wipes - These were decent wipes, I wish they were a little more moist, but overall they weren't bad.

  • Caress Daily Silk Body Wash in White Peach & Silky Orange Blossom - Ok body wash, the scent was nice and it did the job but it wouldn't be one of my first picks.
  • The Body Wash Body Scrub in Pink Grapefruit - If you are looking for a strong grapefruit smell to wake you up in the morning, look no further this scrub is perfect haha! As for a scrub it was pretty good, and I would re-purchase it.

  • Pink Sugar Eau De Toilette - My holy grail of perfumes! I love how this makes me smell like a candy shop! The scent is like walking into an ice cream shop that just made a fresh batch of waffle cones. I was so sad to see the end of this bottle, I will definitely be repurchasing!
  • Mini vial of Lavanila Laboratories Pure Vanilla Parfum - This smells so good, again just like vanilla! I can see myself buying a full bottle.
  • Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Enchanted Eau De Parfum - My husband bought me this perfume, I was actually quite shocked because he never just randomly purchases beauty products for me. Just like my other perfumes this one has a sweet scent, and I found myself loving it, obviously! The packaging is also adorable, I plan on taking off the charms and making a bracelet or key chain.
  • Bath & Body Works Forever Red - I got this as a stocking stuffer and instantly fell in love! I was worried it would be a limited edition Christmas item, but thankfully it is still on the site so that I can buy a full sized bottle.

  •  Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (Black) - I love, love, love this mascara! It separates my lashes, and makes them so long! I have added this to my holy grail make-up list, which honestly, isn't that long haha
  • Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream - I have very chapped lips so I use this at night and wake up with smooth lips every morning. Thank you Birchbox for sending this product in one of my boxes!
  • elf Nail Remover Polish Pads - Meh, these weren't great but they smelled really good, they were citrus scented! Although, for $2 I would rather just buy a bottle of remover that will last me a lot longer!

MINI DRUGSTORE HAUL!

Hello Lovelies!!

I have a super mini drugstore haul to show today, it isn't anything really exciting but I thought it would be fun to still show. I will actually be posting a few hauls within the next couple of days, I've been doing a bit of online shopping, and I'm sure my mailman is ready for it to stop haha!

My haul:

Herbel Essences Naked Volume Shampoo. I honestly just really needed some shampoo so I grabbed this one because I saw that it was paraben free, and it also smelled really nice.

A pack of cotton rounds; I cannot live without these things, I use them for my toner and removing my eye make up.

Chapsticks!! Ok is anyone else absolutely obsessed with chapsticks??? I always have to get a bunch because I use them constantly, and lose them constantly! It also doesn't help that my toddler always runs off with them as well!
From left to right:
Softlips Cube in Fresh Mint
Burt's Bees
Chapstick Hydration
EOS in coconut milk (This smelled bad to me, I ended up tossing it after one use. Did anyone else's smell like that?)
Lypsel - this one is my absolute favorite chapstick it always does it's job and actually hydrates my lips.

elf items:

Nail Polish Remover Pads in Citrus Scent - These smell pretty good, they aren't as moist as I want them to be, they actually feel kind of dry but you only need one per hand.
elf studio flat top brush
elf essential eyeshadow brush x2
elf essential smudge brush x2
elf essential blending eye brush x2
elf essentials concealer brush

Overall, even though it was a mini haul, it was all stuff that I needed and it was rather cheap, which is always nice ;)

Don't forget to subscribe / follow :)

Thank you!

*DIY* MAKE YOUR OWN NAIL POLISH!

Hello everyone!
Lately I have been wanting to do some kind of small DIY project, so I decided to make my own nail polish. It is actually VERY easy! All you need is a clear polish, I'm using an elf Cosmetics one, an eyeshadow color of your choice, I picked the Whip Hand L.E. Loose Pigment in Special Forces. This is a sample I got in a Beauty Army box awhile back, I actually received to of them so that is the only reason I decided to use this one for the polish because it is a beautiful gold! The last two items you will need is a q-tip to help mix your polish and a piece of paper to put all your stuff on top of just in case you make a mess.
The first thing you want to do is crush up your eyeshadow if you are using a pressed shadow, you can use a toothpick for this step. Then you just pour the eyeshadow into your clear nail polish and mix it together with the q-tip or even with the polish brush! I told you it was very simple! I recommend shaking it like crazy for a minute!

Here are some pictures I took while making my polish!

This is 3 coats of the polish and I absolutely love the gold! It also gives off a little bit of a texture, which reminds me of the sand polish. I cannot wait to try this with other colors! I am planning on buying a lot of red eye shadow so I can make the perfect red polish!

EMPTIES!

Hello Ladies!!
I am a little bit late but here are my empties for the month of July and my review on each product =]

  • DG Body Nail Polish Remover: I found this product at a local drugstore, I was in a hurry and just needed a nail polish remover so I grabbed this one because it was only $2-$3. I thought it was remover pads but when I got home and opened it instead of seeing pads the tub had a huge sponge in it. To use it you stick the tip of your finger in the sponge and twist to get the polish off. I wasn't thrilled about the whole germ issue but surprisingly this works rather well! It even took of glitter nail polish easily! I would give this product a C-
  • e.l.f. cosmetics Natural Lash Kit in Black $1: I honestly was not very impressed with these, I think it was mostly because the glue that was included was horrible. I would not buy these again, not that I buy fake eyelashes much at all anyways. I would give these a D-
  • Malin + Goetz Vitamin E Face Moisturizer: I got this moisturizer free with my Insiders' Choice Box and I absolutely LOVE it!! It made my face so incredibly smooth which is saying something because I have really dry skin. This little sample gave me a good 5 uses and even though I only used it 5 times it worked wonders. I am debating buying a full size of this. Beauty Bar sells it for $82 for an 8.5 FL OZ which is pretty decent, especially since I saw it on Amazon for $89 for only a 4.5 FL OZ bottle! I rate this product a definite A+
  • NUME HydroPunch Hydrating Conditioner: This came in my July Myglam bag; I know that a lot of women didn't like this but I actually really enjoyed it. I got 5 uses out of this, my hair is a medium length and I only need about a dime to nickel size amount of this to get it to work through my hair nicely. It does have a strong smell to it at first but it does fade quickly. It makes my hair smooth as well as shiny and also prevents tangles. B+
  • Britney Spears Curious Perfume: I have had this perfume for quite awhile; it has a really nice scent to it and is perfect for a date night. It does give off a strong scent but it does not hold. The bottle is adorable though! B
  • Kellet Moisturizing Gel: I chose this sample as a pick in my Beauty Army Subscription; I am not fond of the packaging of these cardboard samples but I did get about 4 uses out of it. I really liked how this kept my face moisturized and dry skin free, but I really did not like the smell or the sticky feeling it left on my face. C
  • Proactive Green Tea Moisturizer: I got this free with a Proactive kit that I bought. I hated everything that I got besides this!! This worked so good and it didn't have a bad scent at all which is one thing I look for in a moisturizer. This not only kept my dry skin at bay but it also helped prevent potential blemishes. If I can find this without having to buy the Proactive kit I will definitely buy it. A
  • e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20: I would rather use their $1 line moisturizer honestly; this one is the lightest color and is still too dark for my skin. I just don't really like it.. D
  • Clean & Clear Advantage Daily Protecting Moisturizer SPF 15: This isn't a bad moisturizer but it is not the best. I won't buy it again just because I know of better ones that I prefer more than this. C
  • Maybelline Great Lash Big Mascara: This mascara is really great, it is the one product I have stuck with for years. I do use quite a few other mascara's but I also go back to using this one. I will definitely purchase this again in the future, it works great and is a great price at around $5! A
  • e.l.f. Cosmetics Studio Make-Up Remover Cleansing Cloths: These come in a pack of 20 pre-moistened cloths for only $3. I love these, they take of my make up really well and don't burn my eyes. I love these! A
As you can tell most of the products are moisturizers; I moisturize about 3/4 times a day because I have really bad dry skin. It feels like I never have to buy any though because I am always getting samples of them in my monthly subscription boxes lol

ELF COSMETIICS LOTION WIPES

Elf Cosmetics Lotion Wipes

I am so incredibly happy that elf cosmetics came out with these lotion wipes! I have always had dry skin and it made wearing foundation horrible! My face would always look extra flakey after putting on my foundation and even after trying multiple products nothing helped. Well that changed once I purchased the Studio Lotion Wipes in Vanilla & Coconut (Retail $3; 20 wipes). These have helped my dry face so much; I no longer even have dry skin on my face. I use these in the morning before applying my make-up and then I use them at night after I take my make-up off with elf's studio make-up remover pads. I can now say that I no longer have a dry face which makes using foundation so much easier! I have yet to try the other scents, mostly because they are sold out right now. I would recommend these to anyone!! Plus they smell really good!! I also love the packaging, they are easy for travel and small enough to throw into my purse for when I am on the go.

MY ELF COSMETICS COLLECTION

FAVORITES!

I have been asked many times by a few different people to do a post on my elf cosmetics collection. Well that day has come and I have taken pictures to show you what I have. I know, I know, I am an elf addict and need to stop buying more products but that didn't stop me from buying a couple things during their 50% site wide sale yesterday! I did not include my brushes, make-up remover pads, lotion pads, or cleaning tools in this. I would also like to let you all know that this is NOT a brag, I have had requests to do this and decided to finally give in. I bought all of these products myself and I am in no way associated with elf, I just love their make-up!

ELF STUDIO ZIT ERASER REVIEW

ELF STUDIO ZIT ERASER REVIEW

I unfortunately have had a bit of problems with small acne breakouts so I have tried many products. ELF recently came out with this Zit Eraser (Retail $3) and it surprised me by working rather well. Although, I do not enjoy the smell of it, it reminds me of dirt. I put it on my spots every couple of hours and I could definitely tell the difference the next day. My swelling went down and the redness was starting to fade. It is very easy to use and apply as well. You twist the bottom of the tube and the product comes out at the top through the brush applicator and then you apply it to any area necessary. I would recommend this product!

ELF VS MARBELLA EYELINER PEN
  WHICH IS BETTER?

I am a complete ELF (Eyes Lips Face) fanatic!I love that I do not have to break the bank when purchasing items, especially for just one thing.
I am also subscribed to the Myglam bag, which is a monthly subscription to recieve 4-5 beauty samples per month for only $10.
In the month of June I recieved a full size Marbella Permanent Eyeliner Pen retailed at $25; among other items. That made me really happy because just that item paid for two and a half bags! But the question is which Brand is better? The ELF $1 Waterproof Eyeliner Pen or the Marbella $25 Permanent Eyeliner Pen. I tested them both and here are my results:
(Sorry for the pictures, I am in the process of getting a new camera)

The ELF Waterproof Pen was the winner for me!Just one swatch was all that was needed; even with two swatches of the Marbella the ELF still out did the Marbella pen. I also tested both pens out and wore one on each differet day. The ELF pen eyeline pen lasted all day with little to no smudging. The Marbella pen lasted most of the day but was pretty smudged by the time I took it off. So do your self a favor and save $24 and go with ELF! I will say that I do like that the Marbella Pen is duo-tipped, but it is messy changing to the other side.

Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with any of these brands or subscriptions, I just love make-up!
