URBAN DECAY ELECTRIC PALETTE REVIEW + THREE LOOKS!

Hello Lovelies!

Ever since I laid my hands on the Urban Decay Electric Palette I have been absolutely obsessed with it! I know it sounds and looks a bit scary, but you can actually do quite a few not so 'crazy' looks! The colors are beautiful and definitely pop, and just like all of the other Urban Decay shadows, the shadows are super pigmented, smooth and easy to blend. I love the packaging of the palette as well, it reminds of The Color Run Marathon or like a 'trippy psychedelic' picture. The palette also comes with a double ended brush that is actually pretty decent as well and I do use it for packing on color to my lids.

The Electric Palette

These swatches are without primer and that color payoff alone is great! Although, I do highly recommend that you use a primer when using these so that they don't stain your skin.

Better Late Than Never, My Make-Up Talk Secret Santa Unboxing!!!

Hello Lovelies!

I have been wanting to post this ever since I got it in the mail, my MUT Secret Santa!! If you don't know what Make-Up Talk (MUT) is, it is a forum for everyone to get together and talk about makeup/beauty products! I love it and it has really helped me with tons of beauty related things, including starting a blog and figuring out what beauty subscriptions I wanted to join.

Every year MUT has a 'Secret Santa' that people on the site that you can sign up for, there are rules; you have to be a certain member for so long and have so many posts before being able to participate. There is also a $25 cap on the gifts. This was my first year and it was SO MUCH FUN!! The amazing girl that got me did such an amazing job, like I cannot thank her enough for everything she got me! I felt so spoiled and blessed by her kindness!!

The Goodies!!!
(Sorry, these were really rushed photos, I was too overwhelmed to take nice ones, I wanted to play with everything too much!)

I know what you're thinking, my girl is awesome, and I agree she definitely is!
It was like my best friend sent me a gift and not a complete stranger because she did SO good with these gifts! I love that she totally took the time and found out everything I love and so much about me to get me such amazing presents!
I cannot tell you how happy I was to open up that Olay set, I had just gotten to town from a 13 hour flight day plus 3 hours in a car and realized I forgot my razor back in North Carolina! So when I opened this up I was ecstatic! She must have known I was going crazy packing and would forget my razor!!
The Notebook she got me was so thoughtful, I'm pretty sure she had seen a previous post saying that my husband is deployed, so for her to find something so personal was very heartwarming!
I am in LOVE with my Harry Potter Golden Snitch Necklace and Bracelet set! I have a huge obsession with HP! That set was definitely tied for first place for best Christmas gift 2013! I have seen many HP snitch necklaces/bracelets and the quality of this one is amazing compared to others!
How adorable are those Victoria Secret Slippers!! I love them, they are so comfortable!!
I am addicted to chapstick and the Nivea one she sent me is great! I haven't used that particular one and I tend to hoard chapsticks so new ones always make me happy!
The Maybelline Big Eyes is becoming one of my favorite mascaras! I love that it has a wand for your top lashes and bottom lashes, it makes it so much easier to not accidentally get mascara on your face.
Smashbox Photo Finish Face Primer is my favorite primer and I LOVE deluxe samples because I travel a lot. It went straight into my purse because I always like to have one with me just in case I'm late and have to do my makeup in the car/airport/airplane.
I'm officially in love with the Urban Decay Stardust eyeshadow in Retrograde, it is a beautiful purple and it is pretty glittery so I pair it with a winged cat-eye and it looks great!
Butter London polish in Yummy Mummy, it is a beautiful Champagne color!
Pixi Mascara that I haven't tried yet.
Klorane dry shampoo, I love dry shampoo so I can't wait to try this one out!
I LOVE the leopard print scarf!!

Thank you so much to my SS For everything! You are such an awesome girl and I appreciate everything so incredibly much!!! Your gift definitely made my Christmas!

Here is a photo of what I sent to my Santee!

WHAT'S IN MY Z - PALETTE...

Hi Lovelies!

I had been wanting a Z-palette for quite awhile now so about a month ago I finally bought one and I have to say, I love it! I picked the 4 U Z-Palette ($17), which is bigger than the small palette but smaller than the large, honestly it should just be called a medium palette. I actually regret not getting the pro-palette instead, which is the biggest one, since this one is already filled up a bit and I have more eyeshadows and blushes I want to add. I will definitely be buying more in the near future, they are really handy! I don't like carrying multiple items in different compacts so this was really nice! I was lucky enough when I depotted my Urban Decay Naked2 palette that I didn't have to use my flat iron, although I did end up having to use it for my MAC eyeshadows. (Don't forget to save your compacts from MAC after you depot them so you can return them for a free lipstick!)

My Z-Palette

 Swatches:

From top to bottom:
Benefit CORALista Blush (Deluxe sized sample)
Urban Decay Eyeshadows from Naked2 in
Foxy
Half Baked
Snakebite
Chopper

Cargo Eyeshadow in Ceylon
The two rectangle purples underneath are from a Covergirl Quad that I am pretty sure discontinued. It was the Covergirl Eye Enhancers Eyeshadow Quad in Blossoms 257.
The swatches are eyeshadow is actually horrible now since I have had them for a long time but I keep them in my Z-Palette so that while I am out I can find dupes of them because I really like the colors! If you have any suggestions for dupes let me know =]

These two pink eyeshadows are also from the Covergirl quad and I am looking for dupes of them too =]
Cut off at the very top and not swatched is my Covergirl Fresh Complexion Pocket Powder Foundation in Ivory, I love to use this over my L'oreal True Match Liquid Foundation!
The top eyesahdow is MAC's Romp, which is now sadly discontinued, I love this shadow!
And the last eyeshadow is MAC's Soba!

Do you have a blog post about your Z-Palette? Post a link down below and I will check it out!

MY FLIGHT ESSENTIALS / WHAT'S IN MY CARRY-ON! + Mini Haul!

Hello everyone!

I have mentioned in previous blog posts that I travel a lot between my home state of Oregon and my current home in North Carolina; I decided to make a post about my typical travel days and my essentials that I take with me!  I'm not going to show all of the stuff I pack for my son because it is obviously all kid items lol
Every time I fly, I fly through Delta because I always seem to get the best deal, and the flight attendants have always been genuinely nice to me and helpful when it comes to me traveling alone with my toddler!

The first thing that I get out when I travel is a bag! I have to have the perfect bag and a big one at that since I bring my laptop with me! The bag I decided to carry-on with me this time is my Pink Cosmo Gold Studded Satchel (retail $70), I got this from Little Black Bag! I love this bag because it has a long strap and handles, having the option to carry it either way is really helpful when carrying this, with a diaper bag while pushing a toddler in a stroller!

In my bag for personal items I brought:
Jean Pierre Cosmetics Oil-Absorbing Facial Tissues- these are great when traveling! I got these in a Beauty Box 5 box!
Trident Gum in Spearmint- Gum is perfect for chewing when you are taking off and landing to keep your ears cleared!
La Fresh Travel-Lite Antiperspirant Deodorant Wipes- I used one of these on the flight and am currently saving this one for the next time I fly! I got these in a BB5 box as well.
Hair Tyes
EOS Chapstick Ball: This is my go to chapstick at any time and especially when I am traveling!
Aquafina Pink Sugar Roll-On Perfume: I always make sure that I have a perfume of some kind when traveling! I picked this one because the smell is light so I can make sure it isn't over powering causing people on the plane to get headaches from it (hopefully). I also like to make sure my perfume is a roller ball because it is easier and more convenient while traveling! This scent is so amazing, it smells like freshly made waffle cones! I discovered this scent through Beauty Army and ended up buying the roller ball at Ulta for $22!

I always like to make sure I take a wrist-watch with me because I am a constant time checker, especially when I am flying, and as you know, you cannot always have your electronics turned on.
My trusty I-pod! I was watching the amazing Josh Hartnett in 30 Days Of Night!
My in-flight Coca-Cola to keep me awake!

I love to read so flying is one of the best times to catch up on reading, and I had plenty of time on this flight to do that since it was a 4hr 20 min flight plus an extra hour being delayed and sitting on the plane at the main gate -_- gotta love LAX! I was reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix; if you didn't know I absolutely love HP, especially the books!!
I always like to bring my own snacks with me and I brought some already shelled pistachios! So delicious!!

MAKE-UP!!!
I always bring make-up on the plane with me so I can 'paint my face' before I get to my husband haha!
3 elf cosmetics brushes, I broke off the wooden handle part for easy traveling and I actually like it a bit more! These are all from their Studio line ($3 per brush), the top brush is the powder brush that I use for my foundation, the middle brush is the small stipple brush I use for blush, and the bottom brush is the eyeshadow "C" Brush!
(Not pictured: sample of Youngblood primer)
L'Oreal True Match Concealor Crayon
Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation
Benefit Cosmetics Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow Primer
Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow in Honey (Gold)
Model Co. Eyeliner (Black)
Urban Decay Supercurl Mascara (I absolutely LOVE this eyeshadow! It is the best eyeshadow I have ever used I think!)
Benefit Cosmetics Coralista Blush
Softlips Cool Mint Chapstick

My mini-haul I got was a Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Toner! I absolutely love this toner, it is the first toner that I have used that does not break my face out in a rash! I actually bought this previously from Birchbox but literally after 5 uses my pesky little toddler stole it and dumped the whole thing into one of my purses!!! I have been trying to get this from Birchbox again for awhile but it has been sold out! This bottle is $16 but the awesome sales associate happened to notice my military ID and gave me a discount! I was really surprised because I never even think to ask for a military discount anywhere but this guy had like eyes of a hawk and noticed the ID super fast! So with the discount I only paid $12.80! Thank you Portland (PDX) Airport lol! The sales man also gave me a free sample of Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream!

Last but not least here are two extra photos I took on the plane, one of the flight tracker on the little T.V.'s they have on the back of the seats, and the next one is just a picture I took of us above the clouds that I liked =]

SEPHORA MINI HAUL!

I am so excited, I got my Sephora order in the mail yesterday! I actually ended up placing two orders because after I placed the first one, my Urban Decay NAKED2 palette, I decided that I really wanted to try out the new Urban Decay NAKED Skin Foundation. What I love about Sephora is that you always get to pick 3 free samples with every order so with placing two orders I got 6!! I as well had some coupon codes that got me a free Buxom Big & Healthy Lipstick and another coupon for the second order that got me a little bag with 6 perfume samples! I love perfume so I am so excited about this! (I will post codes if you want to order anything off their site =]) Sephora also has the option of spending $50 and you get free 3 day shipping so I took advantage of that for sure! Overall I spent a little over $100 and since I am in their Beauty Insiders' Club I got 100+ points for that order so I used 100 of my points and got a free gift!
So here is what I got!

YAY! I have been wanting the Urban Decay NAKED2 Palette for forever so I am so happy I got it! I have already used it for a brown smokey eye and the pigmentation is great! The colors are so beautiful and they are very smooth! The palette came with a travel sized Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked. I love the packaging on the lipgloss it is so adorable! The brush that came with the palette is very nice, the bristles are smooth and apply the eyeshadow nicely!

I am so happy I decided to place a second order to get this! I got it in the color 2; it matches my skin really well, although it does have a little bit of a yellow tint to it. I am so in love with it already. I used my ELF Cosmetics Studio Powder Brush to apply it, it went on so nicely! The coverage can be built up to how you prefer it, it does not even feel like you are wearing Foundation! I absolutely love how my face feels when I wear this foundation! It sales for $38 and is 1 OZ. It is definitely worth the cost and I will buy it again without hesitation.

This is the Sephora Be You Lip Balm in Coral Twist. I have never tried their lip balm before so I decided to give it a try. It is very sheer but it does leave a coral tint on the lips. It's retail price is $3 but I just looked at the site and it looks like they aren't selling it any longer..

The last item I bought is the Living Proof Shampoo. I really wanted to try this out because I received Living Proof's styling cream in my June Myglam bag and I loved it, so I thought I would try out their shampoo. I only bought a 2 OZ size because I am picky when it comes to shampoo so I did not want to buy the larger size in the case that I did not like it. (The 2oz size is $10) I tried this yesterday and I love it! I have become a huge fan of Living Proof now; I will definitely be buying the full size shampoo as well as a conditioner to see if I like that too. My hair is so soft and shiny right now it is incredible. I definitely rate this product 10/10!

Ok to the free stuff I got! First I will show you what I got with my Beauty Insider points..

Philosophy Purity Cleansing Gel (1 OZ)
I tried this as well yesterday an I thought it did a great job at removing my make up in the shower. It did not take away all of my eye make up, but it took away enough so that I did not get out looking like a raccoon lol. I really liked this cleanser because I have sensitive skin and most cleansers make my face breakout in a rash but this one didn't so I am very happy with this!

My free products with the coupon codes!

The first code I used was 6SCENTS  and when you enter this in at the checkout you can chose between 4 different bags of perfume samples. I picked 'playful' mostly because it had the Aquolina Pink Sugar perfume, I already got one in my Beauty Army sub and I love it! The other perfumes that came with this are Marc Jacobs Oh Lola, Versace Bright Crystal, Clinique Happy, Ralph Lauren Romance, and Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia. I really enjoy all of the scents, I absolutely love perfume samples because I travel a lot and I can actually take these small bottles on the plane. I smelt the Giorgio Armani one and I was like this reminds me of something from when I was younger and I just couldn't think of what; I called my mom and was telling her about it and she told me that she actually wore it when I was younger! Isn't it funny how after so long we still remember scents even if we cannot always pinpoint them? The second coupon code I used was YOURGIFT and it will let you pick a deluxe sample gift; I picked the Buxom Big & Healthy Lip stick in Marrakech. It honestly isn't my color once I actually saw it in person but I think it will look pretty good with a darker lipgloss over it!

Free Samples!

Since I placed two orders I got 6 free samples!! YAY!! With my first order I picked the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation sampler because I wasn't sure which skin color would fit me, even though I ended up buying the color 2 the same day lol, I got both orders the same day so I decided to try the sample of 2 first just to make sure it fit so I am very happy it did! It also came with samples of the colors 3.5, 4 and 8. IF ANY OF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT BE ONE OF THOSE COLORS AND WANT TO TRY THEM OUT POST A COMMENT WITH YOUR EMAIL AND I WILL SEND YOU THE EXTRA SAMPLE =] The next sample I picked was the Yves Saint Laurent TOUCHE ECLAT radiant touch samples, it comes with 1, 2, 3, and 4. The Hour Glass Veil Fluid Make up Oil Free SPF 15 in Nude. The Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers' invisible oil (I love trying new hair products!) and last but not least I got 2 of the CoverFX Clearprep FX matte foundation primer and anti-acne treatment. I love trying new primers and this one really caught my eye because it is also an anti-acne treatment so I really wanted to give this a try!
Have you bought any new products lately?
